The First Step for improving your Mind

Your first step to any type of improvement in your life starts with a decision to grow. Once you are commited to the development of yourself than you know your taking your first step. Just like anything else in life, in order for you to be good at something you need repetition in the area that you want to expand in. This is the basic strategy in imporoving your mind.

There are many ways to improve yourself mentally, I beleive one of the most effective ways is to start with affirmations. Affirmations are a collective group of positive phrases that help you toward the direction you desire. By repeating these affirmations you are focusing your mind on the goal that you want to acomplish. The whole point of this is to say these phrases with emotion and meaning as if they have already occured or are occuring in your life at this moment. Once you have aquired this to be a habit of your way of thinking, which usually takes 21 consecutive days to aquire a habit. These powerful statments will be placed into your subconcious mind.

Now the power of your subconcious mind is beyond most of anyones comprehension. Once you have succesfully planted these affirmations into your mind as a habit, your beleifes will also change. You will also feel and have that confidence of certentiy that what you have just aquired is real and working for you all the time. This feeling is very strange because in the areas of your life that you needed to improve on and were very doubtful and without confidence, are now areas that you are very comfortable with and are now full of confidence.

To start with some expamples of these affirmations we need to have a goal in sight. What types of goals do you have that you would like to produce better results in? Your Self-Confidence, Reading Abilities, Memory, Communication Skills, Appearance,Weightloss and so on. There are many areas in your life right now that you have the ability to take charge of and improve them at this moment. The most important decicsion you can make is to take the mental attitude of ownership of what you are trying to accomplish.

Now that we have our goal to what we want to acheive, we brain storm lots of ideas on how to improve in that area. Lets get this straight, there is not only 1 affirmation you need to improve your self-confidence or any area of your life for that matter. We need to make around 12 phrases that you will repeat and so you can attack this problem of self-confidence. Here are a list of affirmations that you can use or edit yourself and make them your own. Which is the most improtant way to achieve your goal is to make them your own statements, which are more meaningful.

I really am very special, I like who I am and I feel good about myself.

I am full of life. I like life and I'm glad to be alive. I am a very special person, living at a very special time.

I have alot of energy, enthusiasm and vitality. I am exciting and I really enjoy being me.

I am happy on the inside and I am happy on the outside.

I like to be around other people and other people like to be around me. People like to hear what I have to say and know what I have to think.

I have unstoppable confidence, I enjoy talking to groups of people.

Most of the affirmations that you will be repeating will not agree with the beleifs that you already have about yourself. This is where the hard work comes in, but it is worth every ounce of energy you put into it. Once you repeat a phrase like "My presentaion skills are outstanding, and I enjoy leading group descussions," if you really dont have this belife about yourself, your mind will be fighting you on this. But if you can repeat this phrase with meaning and emotion; and you start to internalize this statement as your own and become confident with it. You will start to realize that you have become what you are focusing on this whole time without any effort on your part.

These great characteristics that you gain through all your hard work through affirmations will lead you to do great things in your life and nothing will hold you back. Postive thoughts and more importantly positive beleifs about yourself will help you realize your true potential and your ture pupose in life.
